Chat / Community Interaction Rules

NOTE: Chat rules apply to in game chat, animal names, item names, signs, books, private messages, and ANYTHING where text can be seen in game. They also apply for all situations where you are "just joking/messing around" with a friend or another player.

1. You must speak English only in the main chat and on signs / renamed items. Any private channel (PM, Party Chat, etc) can be in whatever language you desire, so long as it meets all other chat rules.
2. Always respect others. NOTE: This rule applies to all chat channels, not only the main chat, and includes the following:
   • Do not intentionally annoy people (including not stopping something after being asked to stop).
   • Abusive language involving mental or physical disabilities, sexuality, gender identity, race, misogyny and sexist language, plus swearing at or about other players/staff.
   • Abusive language about the server itself
3. Spamming the chat is not allowed. Chat spam can take many forms but here are the main examples:
   • Usage of excessively repeated letters or punctuation
   • Excessively repeating similar/same phrases
   • Sending one sentence relatively fast in the form of multiple sub-sentences in different messages rather than the bulk of it all in one message
   • Listing  multiple ads in the AH
4. The usage of excessive capital letters is not allowed.
5. No racism
6. Custom fonts and special characters are not allowed.
7. Harsh discussion of politics/religion is not allowed.
8. Advertising socials on items is not allowed.
9. Bypassing or attempting to bypass words that are filtered in chat is not allowed.
10. Seeing that a word is censored and then using it in chat because it censors it out anyway is not allowed. Once you have discovered a word is censored, it is to be avoided and not said for your entertainment.
11. Sexual or disturbing chat is not allowed.
12. Advertisement of other servers (server names, server IPs, and server Discords) is not allowed.
13. Advertisement of LightMC on other servers is not allowed.
14. Actively trying to steal players from LightMC to another server is not allowed. This includes poaching players from our Discord too.
15. Respect staff decisions once made. If you have a query of an issued punishment or decision, it must be handled via a ticket in our Discord. Failure to have a mature and cooperative discussion OR continuing to argue after being given an explanation will result in the minimum of a mute.
16. Any talk of DDOS, cyber attacks, or major real-life threats  will be treated as a major threat and severely punishable if it was said on the server/discord This rule holds true for situations whether the statement was said as a joke or not. ALL matters of this rule violation will be treated equally.
17. Any video or observed discussion, whether it be on the server or off the server, of players doxxing others (sharing personal information) will be treated as a major offense. It does not matter if the statement was said as a joke or if you are friends with the person. All violations will be treated equally. The following information is considered as "personal" and falls under this rule:- Full names (stating just someone's last name may result in being treated equally), Home addresses, Workplace details, Phone numbers, IP addresses, National Security IDs, Bank account or credit/debit card information, Criminal history, Personal photos, Personal details.
    
    General Build Rules
    1. Griefing any build that you did not make is not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, the following situations:
       • Breaking blocks, placing blocks, or taking items in/from claimed builds or containers without the owners permission. This includes placing signs in their build. NOTE: This does not count for unclaimed Minecraft generated structures like Strongholds, Pillager Towers, Abandoned Mineshafts, etc. It is meant to cover the container's that players or staff have placed/added things to.
       • Breaking builds/adding to builds in a claim you're trusted in if the claim owner told you not to
       • Any method of bypassing someone else's private container protections
       • Claiming builds or containers of others players, regardless of the reason why
       • Lava casting with intent to disrupt someone's build (this is subject to staff discretion of intent to disrupt vs legit building technique).
    2. Pointless redstone loops or item droppers are not allowed and will be removed. 
    3. Any contraption with the design to intentionally slow down / crash the server or a player's client is not allowed and will result in severe punishment. NOTE: Although 0-tick farms are made with the intention to farm, they are extremely laggy so fall into this rule category and are to be broken.
    4. Any builds that violate any of our chat rules are not allowed. This covers things like; building sexual objects, racist builds etc.
    5. Nether portal trapping is not allowed.
    6. Breaking bedrock by any method or exploit is illegal and harshly punishable.
       
       AFK Farm Rules
    7. Leaving a farm activated without a reliable means of clearing the entities or entity drops will result in a punishment to both the account loading the farm and the account that owns the farm. Punishment for these violations is at the complete discretion of what an Admin deems necessary to control the lag caused by them and can include irreversible removal of spawners. 
       
       Account/Alt Account Rules
    8. Your account is your responsibility. Punishments will be made against the account regardless of who signed into the account.
    9. Using websites that give you mass alts for free to join and give benefits to your main account over and over is not allowed.
    10. Non-full accounts (like cheaper accounts you can find online) are not supported by the server. Whilst they are not against the rules, if you lose access to one of these accounts, we will not help you by transferring anything over to a new account. The progress is lost.
        
        PvP Rules
    11. No toxicity allowed about PvP.
    12. Any use of a donator rank command (a command that a Newbie cannot permanently do) is not allowed. This includes commands like /vanish, /god, disguises, etc).
    13. Use of pets in PvP arenas is not allowed.
    14. No use of glitches to gain unfair advantages in combat
    15. Teleporting players without their knowledge of where the teleport leads to kill them is not allowed.
        
        Glitches and Illegal Activity Rules
    16. Having hacked clients, cheating texture packs, auto clicker, or other cheats active on your online account is not allowed, regardless of use. Anything that gives you an unfair advantage in game falls into one of the aforementioned categories.
    17. Use of a weight or any other mechanism of allowing a mouse or keyboard button to be continually triggered without the presence of a player actively holding down the button themselves is not allowed. We will deem your player as AFK clicking (auto clicking) if you are unable to respond to the AFK checks we give you in game.
    18. Macro scripts to initiate interval commands or auto-joining is not allowed.
    19. Use or abuse of ANY exploit is not allowed. Exploits must be reported to staff immediately. This includes any method of duplicating items that are deemed by staff to be exploitative. 
    20. Bringing items onto the server via the creative hotbar saves or any other method is not allowed.
    21. Bypassing rules by ANY means is not allowed.
    22. Being in the knowledge that someone is hacking, abusing glitches, or evading a ban and not reporting it (especially using it to your advantage) will be treated with severe consequences.
    23. If you lose a dragon egg by interacting with it after placement, it cannot be replaced since it cannot be logged and is a vanilla method of losing an item, not a glitch.
    24. If you contact staff regarding what you believe is a server glitch that has caused something beneficial/detrimental to happen, one of the following must occur in order to have the situation rectified:
        • You must provide a method in which the glitch can be seen. This can be via video or instructions. As long as staff can replicate what you have told them.
        • You must work with staff to find a replication method so the glitch can, again, be seen in action.
        • You must provide a video of the glitch in action. Even if you or staff cannot replicate the glitch, if it can be seen via a video, you have a valid argument.
        • Failure to provide or find a valid replication method in your interaction with staff will result in no further action being taken on the situation. If the situation is deemed closed and you, later on, DO find a replication method (or staff find it), you will be able to get back what you may have lost.
          
          Voting Rules
    25. Using a VPN or any other means to vote more than once every 24 hours, whether it be for an alt or the same account, is not allowed.
    26. Having other people vote with your name to accumulate more than the intended votes within 24 hours is not allowed.
    27. Voting using someone else's name is not allowed.
        
        Banned/Punished Account Rules
    28. Do not bypass bans with alternative accounts. If you have a temporary ban and use an alternative account to enter the server, that account will receive a matching ban at a minimum, though it may be harsher.
    29. Use or method (on a different account, the punished accounts, or by asking other players) to send messages visible to players in chat to bypass a mute is not allowed.
    30. Use of signs or books during a mute IS allowed, provided they are not used to complain or continue the discussion about the punishment, the staff, server, or rules.
        
        Scamming, Deals, and Deception Rules
    31. Scamming or lying to players is not allowed. This includes selling people items with false information.
    32. IRL Money trades for items in game are permitted however we don't encourage them. (we won't moderate them if they go sideways)
    33. Selling demo minions without the person showing proof that they understand the minion was a demo is not allowed. It is your responsibility to ensure you have valid proof. A screenshot of them acknowledging it is the best way. We will not accept cases where you've put the item in chat and state that they could've seen it said it was a demo in the lore. Proof must be clear.
    34. Any deal made on the server must have clear screenshots of the agreed deal prior to its occurrence for it to be enforceable by staff. If you get scammed by a player not upholding their side of the deal, when the time comes, we will NOT go through logs (if they still exist)to prove the deal for you and you can consider the items / money lost. The important things to note regarding this rule are: 
        • We will not uphold any deals of intangible assets. For example, if you are trading money for a rank, or items for another item etc, these are all tangible assets and have the potential to be enforced. But if you are doing something like trading money / in-game items for a promise to not do something, we will not enforce this.
        • If you do not agree on a set date for the latest you want the deal to be upheld, then the user will be allowed as much time as they wish to return what is needed.
        • We will not go about chasing down the "interest" that you've charged. We will only ever enforce the base deal.
        • If a deal involves the future repayment of money / items and the user does not have the required asset to repay it, we will not create that asset for you. Instead, the user will receive punishment for scamming as long as the scam is clear.
          
          Payment Rules
    35. Issuing a chargeback or any form of legal action against LightMC will result in a permanent ban from the entire network that will never be lifted.
    36. Threatening us with issuing a chargeback will hold the same weight as doing so and will be met with a permanent ban.
    37. Using another player's username to login as their character and make purchases in the shop is not allowed. To purchase packages for someone else, use the gifting option on the shop.
        
        
        Premium Rank Rules
        Spawned and Purchased Item Rules
        NOTE: A spawned item is an item that you got from using a command. Methods of obtaining items that count as the item being spawned can include (but is not limited to):
        • Usage of /skull
        • Usage of /kit
          1. Spawned items cannot be given out or sold to players. (kits with your name on them)
          2. Spawned items cannot be sold to the server using /sell commands or the in-game / player-made shops.
          3. Any physical items, crate winnings, or keys received from, events, voting, or direct shop purchases (such as an Aurora Sword) ARE able to be given out or sold.
             
             General Rules
    38. Changing your nickname to impersonate another player or staff is not allowed. This is per staff discretion and also holds true to any player name regardless of their activity or ban status.
    39. Bypassing mutes with the Discord <-> Server chat channels (if you have access to them) is not allowed.
        40. Discussing bans anywhere on the server or in the discord is not allowed unless you are in a ticket with staff.
